Hello,
I have a manual 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2D 4.0L. It has been running fine for the past year since I've owner it and is in great condition. It has a few upgrades, including differentials, neon underglow, interior glow, Bluetooth radio, and a 10.5in underseat subwoofer/Amp. Recently, I have been driving an hour to and from college and it would drive the first trip in the morning fine. On the back trip, after about 40 minutes, the jeep starts to struggle going uphill, causing me to go from 60mph, down to 45mph. It happens whether I use cruise control or not.
At first, I assumed it may be the fuel pump, fuel injectors, or timing belt, but there is literally nothing else wrongle. No weird sounds, no shaking, no stuttering. All it does is struggle to accelerate going uphill, even if you floor the gas. It accelerate fine downhill and on flat surfaces, but does not accelerate as fast as it had before the problem started. Even in first gear and accelerating from a stop, it lags in acceleration when 40 minutes prior, it would lurch forward without a second though.
Any other ideas?
