So... to the "Inflation" posts above. Let's look at "Purchasing Power" instead.
Interesting that all of the "distractions" in our lives got significantly cheaper while the things we "need" got significantly more expensive.
Raise you have if you're making 70% more than what you did in 2008... because that is roughly what you need to have the same basic necessities.
How are people closing those gaps?
Just since 2020 you'd need a 34% raise to have the same purchasing power.

Excellent example of what our "strong dollar" policy and trade-deficit with China gets us: cheap consumer products at the cost of productive assets. We get our inexpensive TVs and smart phones as we give up our manufacturing facilities, farm land, and residential real estate. Like the American Indians trading land for beads, we are hollowing out our country's wealth in exchange for trinkets.
Ah! Someone else who noticed this. TVs in particular. Comes under the category of "Bread and circuses" without the bread. Keep the sheeple asleep with mindless BS.

Truth is not a left wing value. These people are waging a full on war with truth and reality. What they’re going to find out in the end (the question is will it happen in our lifetime or not) is that truth and reality ALWAYS win in the end.

You don't approve of lane splitting? I've rode it states where it was allowed/legal but have only done it on a rare occasion since I was always worried about someone cutting me off or something. In crazy CA traffic there were times it was nice.
Vehicles aren't looking for guys on bikes trying to share lanes with them.we assume 1 lane is for one car. It's an inherently dangerous tactic to get to your destination slightly faster
Might be but it is legal in some states. And while it's your responsibility to watch out for others it's also the car drivers responsibility to be aware of their surroundings. As I said I only did it on a rare occasion.
Edit: Interesting, CA is the only state where lane splitting is legal.

When I had my bike I never wanted to be (dead) right.
Does any of us? When I was stationed in CA I saw riders doing 40+ MPH while lane splitting. That is just asking for disaster IMO so the times I did it I was going 15 MPH top.
Paper maps are another thing that is going by the wayside... When will people learn?
