For those looking for lower interest rates the Fed said recently that there are 3 rate cuts built in for this year. So.... in the face of inflation they will lower rates again... why? Well
Around 1/3 of our national debt is due to refinanced.... that means the bonds we've issued are maturing and we need to pay the principle back with interest and then issue new bonds to cover that cost.... well.... with rates where they are the new bonds will have DOUBLE interest rate at current levels. This great refinancing starts in June. Hang on.... it's going to get bumpy.

The "crisis" is that we may have to "shut the government down" so they position a bill so that no one can read it and it's so complicated even if you did it'd take weeks to validate. Behold republican leadership....
