My daughter went for holiday to New Zealand. The kiwis couldn'd believe it when she knocked her boots on the ground before she got into them in the morning. We just don't want to step into anything too dangerous...

I do that all the time out of habit. I grew up on a farm and we stored work boots in the garage. The first time you put your foot into a boot with a mouse in it is the last.

I turn every shoe or boot over before I put it on. I don't even realize I'm doing it.

Well... my Structural Engineers design them to spec... then they take their calculations and divide by .5 and then double that answer. So... yeah. We're good.
