Yeah I figured I've been blowing up some people, but we were slow at work and these are hilarious.
Need the other side to start a "mean tweet" thread. I think they'd be surprised at how short that thread would be.
Every time someone says 'we'll have to circle back' or 'we need to give 110%' in a meeting, a puppy dies.
I questioned the 110% in a meeting once. Said isn't 100% pretty much the same thing since we're talking about arbitrary numbers? Got in trouble for that one. So when it came up again and a kiss ass mentioned 110%, when it was my turn I said I'll give 120%. Got in trouble again dammit!
When someone claims they always give 110% you look them dead in the eye and say,
"What you mean to say is you're going to actually do all that you can this time, because the rest of the time you're just a slacker!"
This was my argument. THERE'S NO SUCH THING! Take a pizza, cut into pieces, now give me 110% of that pizza... Now apply that to your effort, which is where they're usually comparing. Give me all of your effort, then an extra 10%.
How are we measuring that extra 10%. Did you just give 109%? Why aren't you giving me 110? That's what Mr. supervisor said we need to give. I think you're only giving 109% which is the same as 90% or 80% depending on the scale, and exactly how we are measuring these arbitrary figures you're throwing out.

Truth is, most people never give 100% so when someone is asking them to give 110% they are asking them to give them 10% more than what they normally give.
One can never perform beyond 100% of their abilities but, one can always increase the limit of their abilities...

I think that might be giving Biden too much credit but sure...
Monty Python was the greatest.... Comedy is pushing limits of what we're not supposed to do... the 70's were full of Black Comedians making fun of Black people.... just a few years after MLK was killed. It was funny, it normalized a lot of the culture as well IMHO. This thin line approach to what's acceptable and what's not is not about protecting anyone from emotional injury.... it's about separation of people into groups for what they hope is coming next...
