I love conversations with leftists because anytime you can manage to get them roped into a discussion it only takes a few questions before their straw man talking points fall apart.

Says who?!? .223 is a very common hunting round, for small to medium sized game and .308 is a great round for large game!!! As for the high capacity mag, I'm a terrible shot, I may need several attempts... you just never know! Oh and the best part, that scary "Military weapon" looks.. Function over fashion, lighter more compact easier to carry when trudging through the forest to go shoot Bambi! Or what/who ever my target is!!
Need would be an inaccurate assessment of why I have the weapons I have or don't... Our Constitution guarantees my right to have them, if I "WANT" them.
Little known fact.... at the time of the Bill of Rights signing a civilian could possess ANY firearm the military could.... including cannons. Yup.... that's right cannons. Now, mind you, cannons were very expensive in relative terms but at no point was weaponry in use by the military not allowed in civilian hands until the 1930's. Ever since then only the law abiding citizens obey those laws.... you know... that's the difference between most people and criminals.
