Are you sure that wanting people to obey the speed limit isn't just a Jeep thing, since it's hard to keep up?
In any case I want very little gov. enforcement/agencies and would prefer cultural enforcement, I think. Seems like a better way. Of course if you pissed off your neighbors back in the day you might not make it through the next winter, because it was hard to acquire goods and services and it probably sucked if your neighbors sucked.
There's a lot of stuff that shouldn't get you thrown in jail, but maybe people know to stay away. If you're stealing or violent, then I've got no issue with a nice gov system, as long as there's punishment that should make it preferable to not repeat that behavior and a cultural system that does the same. I don't think we need to make it any easier to be dumb and lazy either.
Of course the issue with all of that is that we live with so much excess that I can piss just about everyone off and still get by just fine being fat and lazy. You can watch TV all day or play some video games all day for pretty cheap relative to working on Jeeps, trucks and other hobbies.
