Here in PHX, at a Workuity that I frequent, the charging stations, which are powered by the sun, charge 15 cents a minute for the first hour then 41 cents for every minute over 1 hour.
From the TFL lightning videos they charge by the kilowatt hour not by the minute.

This is for a home charging set up I believe ( note it say IF YOU'RE CHARGING AT HOME). The "charging stations" you see in parking lots etc. are for profit groups buying "rights" to set them up in parking garages etc.
I install these in hospital parking garages that have prices that range from 10 cents a minute to over 60 cents a minute. They register the charge like a parking meter.... in simple minutes/hours/days etc.
Commercial electric charging stations are to car charging what Starbucks was to the 25 cent cup of coffee..... People will pay to be seen as 'caring" and cool....

That might be for Tesla only. I seem to remember Tesla talking about charging at "their" charge stations would be cheaper and faster then others.
I’m sure they’re all different but a decent fast charger can fully charge a vehicle in an hour.
By full I mean the normal 0-80%

The commercial charging stations range from a decent speed to high speed charging. The infrastructure needed to put a dozen of those in the same place is pretty costly. 6 of the better charging stations installed in a parking lot can cost $700K turn key easily when you include a transformer, power connection, the chargers themselves and the time/construction to set them. Keep in mind the feeders are often in duct banks etc.
My understanding is that it's not unlike a laptop. You can get 80% charge quickly but the final 20% takes much longer.
Most of the charging stations we put in hospital parking garages will text you as your car charges and you can watch the charge level live if you want.
Yet the FBI can reclassify ongoing cases as "White Supremacy" and label Americans Domestic Terrorists without any evidence of such. Fuck you mr Wray! You fired the first shot....
