My guess is that it's more R's than D's..... by a good amount too. D's don't care if their favorite politician is sleeping around.... or with animals or whatever. They care about the policies. The R's on the other hand... that's all they care about. "Principled Conservatism" is primarily about the appearance, decorum and language their favorite politicians portray outwardly. They'd throw Lincoln under the bus in a second if he lied on his college entrance papers for example.... the D's move you to Massachusetts and give you a crap ton of money to run in Kennedy's old spot.
It's hard to blackmail the left.... it's really easy to do to the sanctimonious politicians on the right.

Actually, back in the 1920's the "Progressive Party" in the US predicted this would happen as a desired outcome of "equal rights". It was part of their larger thesis on Eugenics and how to reduce population.
