Biden can't lower rates because inflation will take off... so the debt will eclipse all other spending by the end of 2024. What happens in 2025? Well... regardless of who's in office they can't undo it as roughly 1/3 of the debt will be refinanced (old lower interest bonds mature and paid off while being replaced with new, higher rate ones, that will both cover the debt and the new interest).

So... here's a critical divergence. Not that I'm a gold bug but you don't fight the trend....

So... what happens when we have a high CPI (Inflation rate)? Even if they somehow stop it... it takes between 3 and 4 years to return to the historic average. We've never been here with debt at the federal level or at the personal level. Every single time we've been over 5.5% (we're at that now on a rolling 12 month average) we've had a recession.

So... this is a little misleading. Yes these are the price increases but what they leave out is that the CPI doesn't include WAGE AND TAX INCREASES... which have been well over 100% in that time frame.
