It's simple... it's dependency. Europe's culture was that of dependency from the beginning. Class systems dictated what you were allowed to do and still do. The US was the only break away from that in the history of Western Civilization. We shouldn't look to Europe for anything. Yes they are white but the commonalities end there. Our Declaration of Independence's first sentence and second paragraph were grounds for the death penalty when it was written.... We are not like them. If any political party in Europe created a platform based on those two ideas today it would be illegal.
the seeds were sown back & even before the 1750s when the divisions began to show themselves between the patriots vs. the loyalists, the latter of which craved the ongoing protection and nannying of mother England.
Nothing is new under the sun
You can literally draw a line through the centuries from those that would give up all independence for 'protections and guarantees', as if those things have ever been real
