Ain't that the truth. Went outside last nite to do a working in the garden - damn no-see-ums just about ate me alive! Too fucking hot during the day, gonna have to try to squeeze it in in the late afternoon when the shadows are long but the no-see-ums aren't out yet.

Little tiny gnats that are so small you can't really see them and they fit through normal window screens too. Their bites itch like crazy, they sort of slash the top surface of the skin.

Yep.... pretty sure it's a safe bet that they didn't complain about the heat at Utah and Omaha Beach...


I'd bet a lot of them were wishing for just a little more heat actually, but they had far more pressing matters to worry about, and did their job any way, because that's what REAL men do!

I didn't have AC growing up.

My parents built their house for it so when I went off to college they had it installed.

The Midwest can get pretty nasty when the conditions are right.

No AC at home or in school for many, many years. School had 4 rows of 4 ceiling fans and open windows all along the back wall. And this was in South Louisiana.
