Same here. I’m guessing most folks wouldn’t have a clue.
I witnessed a similar situation once while waiting in traffic court.
Judge: Mr. Smith, you are charged with driving with no insurance. How do you plead?
Smith: Not guilty.
Judge: So you did have insurance?
Smith: No.
Judge: Do you have insurance now?
Smith: No
Judge: So how do you plead?
Smith: Not guilty
Judge: Bailiff, take him away.

the 200th celebrations and the way the country felt compared to the 250th celebration sure are VERY different...
I don't think our entire unit was that messed up by the end of week 1 when we were still in our Smurfs!!!
It probably helps that the RCPO, myself (RLPO), and all 3 squad leaders were all Navy Brats...

Yeah. Our town had a 1976 event with the National Guard enacting an “assault on the beach” with lots of simulated mortar, M60, and M16 fire that was awesome.
I can't honestly tell you what my town did but I was 15 and more interested in the girls.... I just remember it being more patriotic and such... Lots of flag themed dresses and stuff. Went to the parade in town too....
