I could post a photo of myself in uniform. It’s genuine, and I have a right to wear it on duty, but I would never claim my tiny involvement with the military was any kind of proper military service, because I am never and can never be deployed. I just run a youth programme.
Because it's a picture of him wearing his school uniform from a private military school, New York Military Academy, for high school (so he wasnt 20 years old)
I'll go so far as to say we don't need the government managing anything. If you don't agree, I might suggest a review of the Social Security system...not sure if the proof could be any more obvious. These criminals could fuck up a wet dream...
I'd hate for this to sound "anti-British"...but maybe do your homework before posting. I'm not suggesting anything about the guy one way or another, but you make comments and you clearly haven't bothered to understand who or what you are talking about. You want to talk CharlieFoxtrot, take a look at the USPS or Amtrak. Amtrak has not repaired track that was damaged by H Katrina! The only part that makes any money is the NE corridor. Shameful. Even the French have better rail service than the US.

Amtrak doesn’t own hardly any of their own track. Even with that being a fact I’m shocked they are still around. I’m not sure they’ve ever made a profit.

I've looked at traveling Amtrak a couple of times. I've always given up in disgust.
In theory, that's how SS is supposed to work. The issue lies in the fact that it won't be working that way for much longer, and I might suggest the crux is gross mismanagement. When liars and thieves manage the money, one shouldn't be surprised when the money disappears. Assuming I live long enough, I doubt I'll ever see anything from that system...but I'll bet they'll keep stealing the funds from my paycheck, just the same.
As for the USPS, I have mixed feelings. Most complain about them because of local experience, fair enough. But I can say that my local is good, and I've never had a damaged or lost parcel through the USPS that I can recall. I cannot say the same for Fed-Ex or UPS, both damage things on a fairly regular basis. Of course, Amz trumps them all...
I have noticed that almost anything shipped from the west (particularly the coast) moves like molasses in an Alaskan January. No sense of urgency, it seems, regardless of the services paid for. Just my personal experience.
I think I've taken a train once, not including old steamers. Can't really say I have an opinion.
