When I was 8 or 9 I worked at the local Phillips 66 station for a few weeks. (You could do this in the fifties and early sixties, before the gummint got involved). My job was patching tubes and tires. I did a lot of them, using the hot patch. I roughed up the rubber around the puncture using some weird tool. Then I smeared some sort of liquid cement on the tire/tube and the back of the patch. After a minute or so, I stuck them together and lit them on fire. I blew the fire out after about 10 seconds and put the clamp on. Took the clamp off after about 30 mins and put the tire back together.

Hot patching and "Hot Glue" patching. WHile similarly named were 2 different practices... died out in the 70s because hot glue patching was faster and required less proficiency. I remember seeing hot patches but never used them...

Hot Patch was using a flamible substance directly over vulcanizing rubber pressed againt the surface being patched...
Hot Glue patching was when you spread the vulcanizing glue on the area to be patched, lit it on fire and when the flame went out immediately applied a patch and stitched it to down with a roller... died out in the 90s when cold vulcanizing glues were coming into the market...


I remember transitioning from hot to cold glue and I hated the cold glue because it took longer to set up...

That setting looks pretty much like there concert stage and yes Flake really walks on the treadmill during the shows.

That's still a damned good list.

If Rammstein tours the US again I will be there, it's a great show even though I don't know what they are saying.
