Actually agree with the cancellation of Halloween

And I actually agree with the cancellation of ThanksGiving. Its just never been my holiday, and I don't like roast turkey.

My college electronics teacher fled Commiefornia decades back to move to Wisconsin. I bet he isn't happy that the bullshit has caught up with him.

During a church service, the pastor asked if anyone in the congregation would like to express praise for answered prayers.

Suzie stood and walked to the podium. She said, “Two months ago, my husband, Phil, had a terrible bicycle accident and his scrotum was crushed.”

There was a muffled gasp from the men in the congregation.

“Phil was unable to hold me or the children,” she went on, “and every move caused him terrible pain. We prayed as the doctors performed a delicate operation, and they were able to reconstruct the crushed remnants of Phil’s scrotum, using wire to reinforce and shape it.”

The men in the congregation cringed and squirmed uncomfortably.

“Now,” she announced in a quivering voice, “thank the Lord, Phil is out of the hospital and the doctors say that with time, his scrotum should recover completely.”
All the men sighed with relief. The pastor rose and asked if anyone else had something to say.

A man stood up and walked slowly to the podium. He said, “I’m Phil.”

The entire congregation held its breath.“I just want to tell my wife the word is sternum.”

Well do something other than Turkey too.

Could be smoked ham. Could be brisket.

But it definitely won’t be turkey.

Ham would be my first choice, but I've had all sorts of things for ThanksGiving, including frozen microwave burritos one year. We went through a Prime Rib phase for a couple of years. Son-in-law thinks its the best thing he ever put in his mouth. For me, its "meh" - better than Turkey though. Best is when we just go out - that way everybody gets something they want (I usually have Fettuccine Alfredo) and nobody has to cook or clean up.

You have to add a lot of flavor to turkey to make it taste good. And when it does taste good, it gets boring quickly.

What the hell kind of commie shit???

Seriously, the wife owns Thanksgiving, so its a nice break for me as chief cook and bottle washer.
But we do her turkey with apple raisin stuffing and I get most of the day off.
Christmas, we eat prime rib for Jesus.

Yea - I actually like the many things that can be made FROM Turkey - various lunch meats, hot dogs, and even turkey burgers. But to eat it as a "bird", not so much. I'd rather have duck, Cornish Game Hens, or even chicken.
