That is absolutely fucking correct. For anyone/everyone. I can, have, and will, walk away from anyone who insists that I do. They can figure it out, I don't need to do business with them. There are plenty of fish in the sea who have working websites and/or offices I can visit if needbe.
With that said, I really haven't had much problem, no businesses really expect one to own one of these things with the exception of Home Depot if you want to rent a truck (I went elsewhere). In the EU, and especially apparently in Perfidious Albion, the situation is apparently much worse from what I'm reading.
Sitting at a desk, in an uncomfortable chair, pecking on an outdated keypad……….nah I’d rather sit in my nice comfy lazy boy chair kicked back drinking my favorite beverage poking at the touchscreen.

I’m afraid I can’t stand up for Britain here. You’re right. My 80 year old mother struggles to park the car, charge the car, shop online… at least the NHS does look after medical appointments without a phone.
I had to go to the hospital a few months ago. Of course, they charge for parking and used to have these kiosks where you pay with actual money or a credit card. They were gone. Instead, there's a big sign on the fence with a code. The sign tells me to scan the code, set up an account, and pay for my parking. I went inside and asked the security guy at the front door what to do if I can't scan the code and don't have a 'smart' phone. He did not know. He called someone and then told me, "Well, you can't park there if you can't pay." Dumbest thing I ever heard in my life. After my operation, I went back to the parking lot and my car. I tore the sign down and pitched it over the fence, feeling very Jeffersonian. I drove toward the exit and they had a big gate that would open when you entered your pay code into your phone. I had something better - a Jeep GC. I just drove around the gate, fence, et al and went home. Haven't heard anything, yet, and it's been over six months.
