Anyone else like stock TJs?

Seems I might be in a bit of a minority here but I prefer the look of Stock standard TJ,s!
I understand if you want to Trail or rock climb on the weekends but Western Australia where I live is flat almost sea level and all "Sand" even 50 miles from any beach is flat and sand!
Unsealed roads here do have corrugations so I will eventually upgrade the shocks ( Shock Recommendations for corrugations)

I spent almost 2 years to find a totally stock standard TJ and I am very reluctant to change anything other than cosmetics.
What upgrades do I need to do on an 06 given this was made post the oil drive problem thingy.
What spares should I pre purchase for a "just in case scenario"?

I even love the stock Goodyear wranglers and wheels lol.

I'm all about stock looking TJs. The 30" wheel and tire package is plenty of tire, and stock you can put 31" tires under them anyway.

I do like the stock look a lot, I want to replace the broken fender flares that the old owner put on to stock ones when I have money (broke highschool student, lol)

When I bought mine I drove it stock until the factory tires wore off (and I missed a telephone pole by inches on a rain soaked road). Went to 30" BFG, then 2 sets of 31" BFG and stayed. I look at pics of my TJ when it was stock and laugh.

So did people purchase TJ,s with the intention of upgrading? Or just chasing Rubicon?

There were just under a million sold and they were purchased for tons of reasons... Here in the states you'll still see about as many stock ones as you will built ones... And I venture to say remaining stock ones are more drivable than many of the built ones ended up being.

With stock tires they look like a football helmet going down the road.

Its nice to see them unmolested. But sadly, to most of us that means they need to be.

Four-wheel drives have been lifted here for years and it's became more and more of a trend... To the point that manufacturers are offering more and more build options as well.

From outside USA Some of us are so influenced by USA products, Like I will only wear USA made Levis or USA made Carhartt ( although I prefer Dickies, Guys you sold out to Chinna, go Texas Chexas) But man that stock raised Tj front end and low rear even with a big heavy 6 is well Sexy lol and you want to level it out? Buy a Toyota

I'm running stock + 31" ATs right now and I love the look. I'm piecing together a 2" lift simply for some clearance reasons, but the jeep will otherwise remain aesthetically stock-ish, I'm hoping.

That being said, there is something to be said about a modded TJ that is tastefully done by someone who knows what they're doing. There's quite a few on here with a crazy amount of $$ in aftermarket parts that have a stock vibe to them even with things like high clearance fenders/huge lifts lol.

We dont wear helmets for Football, a helmet is a thing you have to wear if you cant get a medical exemption or prove you wear a turban!

Dont get me wrong I would love a modded TJ but I just cant afford 2 Tj,s! Well actually I can but "Her In Doors' wont let me

I used to think they looked ok on 31’s with 2” lift.

Then I thought they looked just right on 33’s and 4” lift.

Now I think 33’s look small.

Stock TJ is a great canvas.

I was walking around mine at the gas station the other day that has the 4-in lift.... Everything just looks so right aesthetically.

My other Rubicon that is lifted 2 inches doesn't even come close looking as tough.

I'm not getting into the driveability and all the cost differences and all that I'm just talking purely about looks.

I could just stand there and look at it all day.

When I bought mine I was only happy to have my own Jeep finally. My thoughts were also to never sell it so I didn't necessarily have plans from the get-go to do anything with it but over time I saw things I liked and slowly upgraded here and there. I've only put a 2" lift on it barely 2 years ago. Before that was stock suspension for 20 years. Everyone is different.

I beg to differ! I think TJs on 33,s look so wrong in a sort of "Just Wrong way" but really it comes down to personal preference I suppose? As it stands now I can buy a full set including spare of TJ or even JK rims with new boots for $100 au or $75us because everyone wants Bigger Better. I like stock rims and tires so I win in $ terms. I love stock, unmolested TJ Rubicons, but not as much as my built one
