Anyone else like stock TJs?

it's so bad I think you need to let me send a car hauler and pick it up.
I love the stock TJ's, but I do have the factory upgrade option "Tire and wheel group" in package 25D of slightly larger wheels and tires. 15 x 8.0 aluminum wheels and 30x9.5x15 tires. The previous owner put on rock sliders and front and rear bumpers, but I put the front bumper back to stock and will leave the rock sliders since I use them as a step to reach items in the garage

Yeah buddy, going on 2 years and the only non-stock modifications I've made are the ZJ upgrade and changing the bumpers to something more minimal/functional. Running aftermarket wheels out of necessity but want to go back to stock rims if I ever get the chance. Everything else has been in support of creating a reliable stock-like daily driver. If I ever lift, I'm not going with anything other than the H&R springs for a 1-1.5" lift at most. Don't plan to go about 30x9.5 tires
Stock for me is just a starting point. That's why I have a TJ. If I wanted a Wrangler to keep stock, I'd have bought a JK or JL.

Hello everyone , I am new to the forum , first post . I want to thank all for the great information shared here. This is my first TJ so I have spent the last couple of months reading. I have had many jeeps over the last 30+ years , CJs , FSJs, YJs, and one XJ. I am trying very hard to keep my TJ as stock as possible but its just not in my nature. I bought it a little over a month ago , lifted 2.5, rancho 5000x shocks , 33s with new wheels so far. It will be a street queen , maybe a light trail or two. Everything done to a vehicle is usually a trade off , so hopefully I will stop where I am. Pics are when I brought it home and after lift and tires.

I got side tracked in my original post, I like stock jeeps, but I think they all look better with just a little lift , even with 30s or 31s.
Ya don't need a lift for 31s! Got em' on mine with no lift and probably somewhat weak springs lol!I like the look of a stock tj with a more aggressive tire. Having said that, I’m waiting for the rest of my 2.5 ome lift to come in so I can put 31’s on.

Mine is mostly stock and I really dig the way she looks. Replaced beat to hell steelies with Ravines bought off of CL, added Rubicon Rocker guards, 1.25" Body lift and MML, aftermarket rear bumper with hitch bought off of CL, KC fog lights, bumper mounted light bar, LED interior lights, under dash foot well lights and ZJ steering upgrade. PO cut down stock front bumper and I plan on doing something to replace that.

Haha - over here it's all SWB Camels - I don't think I've ever seen a LWB double-hump camel. I believe they are more native to the Mongolia / China region.
Conveniently here's a good pic of the 2001 TJ with a couple, making a strong case for modifications with the 35's, front and rear bumpers, highline, 3" lift, and a bunch of goodies.
We do get a surprising variety of colours though. Usually they'll be the light sand colour like the above picture, but not always.
And making a further case for the modifications.... here's a more updated picture of that 2001... I'm not good at leaving things alone

I think if you embrace the desert, you'll never get tired of living here. The dunes are always changing, and the wind quickly covers any tracks. You can go to the same place over and over again and it keeps changing. And there's just so much of it. And really, can you ever get tired of a camp fire and more stars than you could ever count? Some people look at the desert and see nothing. I see a mix of full octane fun and peace and serenity when you shut the vehicles off. It's a beautiful place.
Money helps but really a YJ or a TJ doesn't need to break the bank, you can get out there and have a lot of fun on a budget if you want to.
But that said, it's a great place to make money (well... not right now but it'll bounce back) and spend it on toys. There's a good following in sports cars, supercars, luxury cars, 4x4s, classic cars... anything with wheels and an engine people love out here and you'll meet some great people in those gatherings.
And that's before we get in to the beaches, pools and resorts and restaurants and activity centres.
I've been here 22 years and there's still places I haven't been and still want to see.
To some there's nothing here. For me, it's got everything I want.
The wildlife can be pretty spectacular too...
I do want to spend more time exploring the neighbouring countries also. Oman was a fantastic place to grow up, but I want to re-visit there more now that cameras are so much better. My old pictures don't do it justice as per the memories now.
And Saudi Arabia is opening the doors for Tourism and modernising so much in the last few years. There's been changes there I didn't think I'd see in my time in the Middle East. I also desperately want to go travel there while it's still fresh and authentic and not too commercial. I've been to Saudi a lot for work in the past, but on those trips I only got to see the industrial areas which are nothing like the video below.
But as much as I love here, there's still so much of the US I'd like to see also though. Would like to some day keep a Jeep over there and find a way to work from home 2-3 months a year over there while travelling.
Sooner the world gets back to normal and I can afford to finish my projects and be allowed to travel, the better
