Right after Bruce died, I remember Denny Hulme racing with both hands still bandaged from the burns in a previous accident.

I saw that Netflix documentary a few months ago and thought it was one of the of that type that I've ever seen. My only complaint (minor) was that it didn't identify most of the commenters. Although they aged, some you recognized, others you had no clue. Some were just names from the past that you had never seen before. It was pretty emotional for most of them.

I watched the Netflix documentary on "Williams" on the same night. It was great and I came away with a much better appreciation for Frank Williams.

I definitely remember those cars from races at Mosport and Watkins Glen. It was great to see innovations like those. With the rules today you'll never see that happen again.

Actually, ground effects, Jim Halls vacuum car are pretty much perfected today so no innovations in aerodynamics but the new tech today is electric power. And it is starting to blow away the fossil fuelled racers. So yeah, we are starting to see it today.

Lots of innovative ideas became standard on race cars ... even going back to mirrors and seat belts (lol) but today's rules for each series are so restrictive that major innovations are almost impossible. Electric power is pretty interesting and it's good racing but it wouldn't be allowed in F1 even if it could compete due to the rules. That was one of the reasons why I liked CanAm so much ... it was "anything goes".
