Never happened once. It puts it high enough up and out of the way that I've never once even bumped into it.
Thanks again. This is where I prefer to mount it. I have been looking for a way to mount my CB in my Jeep for about a year now. Everyone over here told me I would bang my head on it if I mounted it there. Even though they didn't know how to do it. I never liked the idea of mounting it behind the center console between the seats.
This is definitely what I've been looking for.

I received my CB mount and antenna mount Thursday. Thanks again.
Does anyone have pictures of how the antenna wire/cable is run through the back door/window area? I know how to get the wire out there. I'm just looking for ideas so that after the wire/cable is mounted I don't have to worry about it. so that the wire doesn't get pinched in the door and will work with the hard top glass window and the soft top window.
I'm looking for a clean and secure way to mount the wire/cable in that area.

If all you're looking for is a CB radio for the trails your best bet is going to be a Uniden. It's probably the cheapest smallest and easiest to find a place to amount.

Yes, either the Uniden Pro-520XL which can be found for under $40 now, or the even less expensive Uniden Pro-510XL. I'd go for the Pro-520Xl which is what I've been running for nearly 20 years. It is simple to use and totally reliable.

Midland is another good brand but personally, I lost faith in Cobra CB radios years ago. They used to have the best name in CB radios back in the 70's during the CB craze but I personally believe their quality has diminished substantially since those days.

See the HAM & CB thread on communications. I updated it with pictures showing some of the parts you may want. The Rocky road mount is good if you have more than one or have a big heavy full size radio but if you have a cage like I do, it will not work out. The windshield footman loop mount might not work either if you have a cage like I do but then again most cages have streamer bars and a metal panel down the middle to mount radios to. Mine does & I will show pictures when i am done with it for those interested in my "Redheaded stepchild" build post.

Most will agree the Firestik antennas with tune tip and the Uniden 520XL are great choices for a Jeep CB. The audio is 7 Watts and they perform very well for under $35 PRIME account.
