I used Saftycap on my center and Pocono on rear. Nothing to it. Way easier than Frame swap. I have never heard of a single failure of properly installed caps. Mine are hitting 3yrs.
No matter what you choose at minimum you will need to cut out the bottom part where the center skid plate bolts are. If you do a full length section you HAVE TO CUT out all the rear control arm mounts.
I am not sure you realize or maybe you are looking at a different link but that Rust Buster brand is the same patch kits as what everyone else makes just may be much higher quality steel(hence why they are way more expensive) .

These type of repairs are not cheap.

Rust Buster center sections are sitting in my garage. I am good on rest of the frame. Going to hopefully get started cutting and grinding during the week, or pay one of my friend’s grunts a $100 to do it.
I’m also working on my F350, just replaced fuel bowl and a failing power steering pump is just about shot. Was rebuilding bowl when a fitting port broke, and it was still hooked to my boat
. Not going to make that mistake when doing PS Pump. But definitely got to get TJ back up, it’s our get away.

Help identify part. Not the rear cross member that back if fuel skid plate mounts to, but the cross member that front of fuel skid plate bolts to??
I think I will need to replace it too.
Far as I can tell that and fuel skid plate are all else I need to replace along with center frame sections

That’s the one. After pressure washing it’s not as bad as I thought. I’ll have to decide if I want to tackle it this year or wait. I’ve ordered another tank skid plate, it has a bad selection. While we have it in the air doing center sections we are going to spray the entire underside with POR 15.

This worked wonders to get the loose rust off
I then painted everything with Rustoleum rust converter and spray-painted as much as I could.
Should have seen the pile of rust I had when I was done. I also replaced the gas tank skid with an eBay OEM replacement
The old one was missing about 1/4 of the metal.
