CPS install on a 2.5

I'm still fixing problems created by Eagle Transmission in Mckinney, Tx. Dont do business with them.
I am replacing the crankshaft position sensor which is at the top of the automatic transmission at the back of the engine.
Is the best way to reach the CPS by working from the top, drivers side?
Or from underneath?
Anything special I need to be aware of for this R/R ?
97 2.5L 167k auto

I found it best from underneath the driver side, though I don't recall if you can actually see it or if you have to feel it out. You can also undo the wiring harness and follow it to the bolt.

Same, not sure if it’s the same as the 4.0 but I undid the wiring harness and then felt it out where you could unbolt it below the drivers side.

Thanks @EJD , I think the correct abbreviation is actually CKP sensor so I want to be accurate.
Is there any adjustment or is it a straight 2 bolt off and 2 bolt on and done.?
Looks like it's in a very hard to get to places

Ugh, one of those feeler jobs, no problem as long as it is straight forward.
My FSM doesn't have the 2.5L :-/

Yeah I actually think its just 1 bolt, but yeah bolt off, sensor off, new sensor in, and bolt back in, reroute the harness back around and click done. Not sure that a socket would fit, think a wrench is the best bet. Also may help if you have stubby wrenches.

Picked up my 2.5L crank position sensor today from the Jeep Dealer in Richardson, tx.

This CKP sensor.has 2 outside bolt holes, and also a smaller hole toward the center which tells me it is a guide hole for installation and it also tells me the ckp sensor is not adjustable.which will greatly simplify installation, since I've not performed this procedure yet.
