Daily Driver, Go Where I Want To Build

One thing I immediately noticed was that I am paying more attention to holding the disc flat to the work. The grinder is being used differently and the results are much nicer than I an used to.

Yep and the bane of my existence has been trying to teach helpers to hold a flap disc flat to the face of the disc. But, since they cut faster when you use the edge, they all wind up rounded over, ruined, won't cut anything flat and the work winds up with a series of gouges from the edge of the disc.

Here are the middle four lights.

My previous 30 outdoor sign LEDs filled in that center shadow pretty well. It is tempting to stick a couple of the KCs up near the cargo bed stiffener to replace the six that were under the rear footwell.

Or maybe it doesn't matter. I don't know.

These are the old LED outdoor sign lights and their rat's nest of wiring.

The eight new lights and the wiring are barely visible except when lit up, which makes me happy. No one will know I have nice rock lights!

I’ve had a set of those KC rock lights sitting here for a year…they are still in the box, unmounted. Nice work with the install.

The persistence of youth. I have no idea how I got my amps hung the way I did 7-8 years ago back when hanging from the steering column was fashionable.

This leg of the highline install is happening because my wire terminations way back when were terrible and I accidentally ripped the ground off the sub amp several weeks ago. With the amps hung below the steering column, getting to the terminations was impossible without removing everything.

Now that both amps are out, they are now going to live under the driver's seat.

Never ever throw anything away!

While agonizing over the real possibility of mismatched speaker wire colors, I was digging through a very old box of miscellaneous electrical stuff and I found the original excess speaker wire for the 4 channel amp from two lifetimes ago!

It never ends.

I redid every old butt connection with adhesive heat shrinks. The amps now have organized harnesses for the speakers and power that reaches under the seat. Now I need new longer audio cables to get from the head unit to the amps.

Halfway done.
