He says "thank you!"Tough to measure, due to the large corner filet, but I'm getting 4.25 to the edge of the flare and the sheet metal is just behind that. The flare flange thickness is about .125, so I'd go with 4.125

You had me for a few seconds there. I was thinking I might cut up a piece of shit diamond plate tool box and slap some pieces of it on there willy nilly to dress it up some for pics. Then I read your comment again and it dawned on me that is what some folks call diamond plate.Maybe he thought you needed to put some five bar on there.
I thought it was better than calling it Checker Plate. You had me for a few seconds there. I have aluminum colored spray paint. I'll just have to mask off the diamond pattern to make him happy.I thought it was better than calling it Checker Plate.
I have used 5 whys my entire professional career...also 8-D and Fishbone diagrams (among other problem solving tools). I like 5-why the best though. Its the simplest, easiest to teach and generally effective.
This rock has been here for as long as I can remember.

The rock has sentimental value for me. There was a pine cone on the other side for a very long time that must have finally decomposed enough to fall out. Goodbye pine cone. I haven't forgotten you. This is like one of those photos where a pretty big bosomed girl is wearing a shirt that says "my eyes are up here".
I cannot help but stare at that raised body mount and that recessed bolt, though you are pointing to the rock and fancy rock lights![]()
Something I learned in business school
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_whys
An example of a problem is: The vehicle will not start.
- Why? – The battery is dead. (First why)
- Why? – The alternator is not functioning. (Second why)
- Why? – The alternator belt has broken. (Third why)
- Why? – The alternator belt was well beyond its useful service life and not replaced. (Fourth why)
- Why? – The vehicle was not maintained according to the recommended service schedule. (Fifth why, a root cause)[2]
I don’t want to see the girl who personifies my body mountThis is like one of those photos where a pretty big bosomed girl is wearing a shirt that says "my eyes are up here".

That's like the girl in every college movie .. looks dumpy with undone hair and frumpy glasses, but magically will become super hot with a hair re-do (raised mounts) and losing the glasses (recessed bolts)![]()
Did you bend your skid plate up too? This weekend's BFH rollover overshadowed my own tragedy. My terrible temporary exhaust from 5-6 years ago broke apart. The cat has separated from the muffler. The hanger between them has torn out.

This was my fix on the way home Saturday to keep things in place.

It works to keep the exhaust and heat out of the cab, but the rattle is awful.

i'd like to see what you come up with once the rear's been moved. anything i try to come up with has to be up against the tub to stay off the UCA's.I fired it up just now after taking more time to adjust everything. For the moment, it is incredibly quiet again. Which is what I want. Depending on what happens this week, maybe I'll just fix the hangers and add another.
I don't really want to spend a lot of effort and money on this exhaust when I hope to be able to start fresh with much better routing in the future.
