The whine was you complaining about tough obstacles.... I've heard it beforeFinished another small refresh of the steering. I replaced the 185k mile power steering pump with a 15k mile one from the same rig Blaine pulled the steering gear out of. I also put in the big BMB cooler.

There is no real change on the street. I should notice something off road when I am working the steering. Prior to this, I was hearing a lot of whine full the power steering pump with the front axle locked. I'll be interested to see how much quieter it is now and if I notice more power from the younger pump.
I try to hide it and blame other things! The whine was you complaining about tough obstacles.... I've heard it before

Last night, I caught the headlight stalk in a weird way. Not sure how, since it was mid a bunch of other things. But neither the headlights nor the fogs wouldn't turn off. What was it
Ah like the little plastic connector things on the door handle linkage. PT Cruiser uses the same MFS?Last night, I caught the headlight stalk in a weird way. Not sure how, since it was mid a bunch of other things. But neither the headlights nor the fogs wouldn't turn off.
Several years ago, I had fixed the fog lights not turning off problem inside the multi-function switch. So I was almost certain something broke in there.
I was correct. Two things happened. The arm off the headlight knob had snapped off, which is why I couldn't turn off the headlights.

And my 5-6 year old metal plate fix on the internal fog light rocker switch had come loose.

Fortunately, I had a spare PT Cruiser MFS on the shelf.
... PT Cruiser uses the same MFS?

Good to know. I think I have a good ol fashion SFS on my 97Dodge Neon for the early-TJ and PT Cruisers for the late.
Now you know where to get a less expensive and higher quality factory switch. Plus, I think if yours doesn't have them, you can get more features from the fancier Neons.Good to know. I think I have a good ol fashion SFS on my 97
What other features are there? I got my sweet little headlight knob on the dash insteadNow you know where to get a less expensive and higher quality factory switch. Plus, I think if yours doesn't have them, you can get more features from the fancier Neons.
Don't recall. I just remember discussions about it. Fog lights maybe. What other features are there? I got my sweet little headlight knob on the dash instead
Oo that is actually really cool. Would free up a spot on the switchboard under the radio. I'll have to remember that when I start adding switches thereDon't recall. I just remember discussions about it. Fog lights maybe.
