Would I be losing anything installing a regular SYE vs a Super Short one? A tummy tuck isn't in the future as I'm on 5.5" springs and not going to do a BL. Just looking at the simplicity of keeping a speedo gear. If there is a good enough reason to go Super Short I will but if I'm not loosing any advantage I'll just stay with a regular SYE. I appreciate your input.

Some of it depends on your shock travel. What happens to the drive shaft when you droop the axle? Does it still spin freely?

Yes, at full droop right now the drive shaft does not bind at all.

There's an answer. If the pinon is where it ought to be and you won't be raising the skid, raising the ride height or adding more travel, then you likely won't benefit from a SSSYE.

Stay with a standard SYE and you won't also have to buy and install an electronic speedometer calibrator like the Speedohealer. SSSYEs remove the speedometer gear assembly so the speedometer can't be calibrated normally.
