Super short or standard SYE?

Hey guys and gals! Trying to get some info together. Going to be doing a SYE conversion in the near future, I want to run the UCF no body lift skid option, or something similar. Do I need to run a super short SYE since it’s still somewhat of a tuck, or can I stick with a standard SYE? Most likely be advanced adapters SYE with a Tom wood DC shaft.

Currently have 4” of suspension lift, and 35” tires.
 
My personal opinion which is just an opinion would be just a regular sye. You could always notch the ucf skid if you run into drive shaft interference but with the the super sort you would need an electronic speedometer adapter to get the speedometer working.
 
I would just go for a super short SYE from JB conversions. Really no downside to the super short versus the regular besides having to change the speedo set up a little (which is extremely easy). The upside to the super short is that you will have a less severe rear driveshaft angle, meaning the rear pinion angle does not need to cranked up as much.

X2. Same amount of work minus the speedo change (only 3 wires).
 
Super short makes the most sense in my mind. Any extra length you can get from a new driveshaft is a welcome addition, especially given how short the TJ rear driveshaft is!
 
👍🏼 Thanks fellers! Super short it is then. Any reason to go with JB Conversions, over advanced adapters, or any other reputable SYE manufacturer? I’ve seen high praise to the advanced adapters kits here, in the standard SYE anyway.

Also, is there a difference in the NP231 and 231J TC as far as the SYE is concerned?

From my understanding, thus far, the only benefit would be keeping the stock set-up for the speedo. Maybe saving a little coin.... but it sounds like the benefits of the short SYE outweigh the cost of the speedo mod.

This is all assuming that the kits are somewhat comparable in price... and the mod isn’t crazy expensive, or if some kits include everything I need. I haven’t personally done any homework yet, or put any numbers together at this point. Awaiting feedback on brands, and what is compatible so I can start poking around.
 
For a 4" suspension lift, I don't really see a need for a super short SYE kit. Not to mention with a super short you lose the speedometer gear and it's housing. That means you have to install an electronic speedometer calibrator at extra cost. I installed a standard SYE and it worked fine even when my suspension lift height got up to 5.5".
 
🤔 hmmm... conflicting results from two guys that I’ve come to respect both knowledge and opinions. Can we call Mr. Blaine in for a tie breaker? Lol!

@Jerry Bransford, my concern is running the semi-tummy tuck (I guess it could be called that) with 4” of lift. According to the UCF website. The non body lift skid, gains 2” clearance compared to the stock skid.

This, i think, would be comparable to a 6” suspension lift with stock skid. As far as where the TC output shaft yoke would be located in conjunction with the rear pinion yoke.

If my assumption is correct, Could one successfully run a standard SYE with a 6” suspension lift?
