Does anybody have round LED tail lights?

What are your opinions on flange mount vs grommet? Am I missing something but it appears the grommet mount holds the light by friction only? I would think a flange screwed to the tub would be more secure but when it comes to tail lights does it even matter?

Grommet mounts are very stable and solid. They won’t budge.

That would be awesome if you could send some pics. Also solid work on the build!

Grommet mount is VERY secure. Pretty much every Tractor-Trailer on the road uses them.

Those are some new ones I came across that have back up lights for a different project I have. These are what I use, no b-up light tho cause I run a separate b-up light.

This guy has a cool rig, and works with his hands enough to know quality. @Hog also has some. They look really good , both in person and on the road at night.

I put some surface mount oval shape lights on mine ,no drilling other than some self tapping screws , cost was about 12.00 each from local trailer repair and supply store , you can get round ones in the sealed surface mount also

Do you still like your taillights? After my spare delete the stock lights look stupid. I need something flush, and these look great!

I just installed these in my 06.....they are great and I really like the small back up light in the middle of them. A word of caution though. I see you have an 05. If you still have the stock EVAP cannister setup in the rear, you will have to modify the bracket to get these installed. There isn't enough room between the tub and the back of the EVAP cannister bracket to fit the connector on the light.

Also, order them directly from Johnson Trailer Parts:

They are cheaper and free faster shipping. I ordered a set through Amazon and two weeks later still didn't have the package. I ordered another set directly from Johnson and they arrived in two days (granted I'm only a state away from them).

Thanks for the two warnings! I see Stu has a work around. Did you have something easier? Looks like he essentially makes spacers to move the bracket 1” away from the area.

Lowes has some inexpensive spacers that would work. I've used an assortment for projects on different Jeeps. You can usually find them in the store, where they have the nuts and bolts.

No regrets. I still love the look.

@DrDmoney has a really nice set on his also. I don't believe they have an integrated reverse light though.

That’s correct IIRC. I read the whole thread last night. He linked to some very nice lights too.
