You don’t add bump stop from the top, you add it from the bottom, attached to the lower spring perch.
All depends on the shocks that are on there. You need to cycle the suspension to determine if it’s correct.
I don’t want to derail the thread, but how much do bump stops like this compress? I’ve seen my stock size down to the bump stop cup, but certainly these long rubber pieces don’t go that far? I’ve seen these a lot but mine already kiss the coils at full droop so I haven’t considered them for my use.
I’ll contribute to the OP by saying the space between pad and rubber looks a little bigger than my 4”, and I have about 5.5” from metal to metal (puck to bumpstop cup), limiting factor being tires.

Put frame on jack stands and pull springs. Then jack up axle in middle, then on each side individually, and again with wheel locked left and right.
Those look like polyurethane (daystar?) extended jounce bumpers. If so those fairly hard durometer and don't compress much and they are not doing you any favors.
Yes, it is incorrect. As I mentioned, you want to add bump stop on the lower spring perch, not as an extension of the upper jounce bumper.
Keep it simple. Measure the amount of exposed shock shaft and compare it to the gap between the axle pad and the tip of that dildo.
