So I’m sitting on my youngest college campus and got him set up in dorm.. meet his roommate and his family.
Great campus, great atmosphere.. super proud of him!…
He’s in the ad min building as I type with his mom clearing some class times up and it just hit me that my wife and I will be without children in our house.
We have waiting for this day and have bragged about it at supper with friends or wherever. But.. it’s about to happen.. I think it hit me a hr ago when he said “are y’all gunna stay tonight so we can go to supper?”..
We are about to have the same drive we had about 5 years ago when we dropped off our oldest one for boot camp in Knoxville and had a super quiet drive home!!
Well I guess the saying goes… be careful what you wish for!!

This is both a sad and proud moment. One that makes us realize time goes faster than you think. Although it seems like forever when you're in the middle of it, they grow up faster than we would like!

I'm right there with you Hog! We just dropped our only child off at the Univ of TN this past Sunday, and its been odd feeling in the house without him around. Super stoked for him, and proud as hell my boy is off at college, but we did a ton together.

Yeah, it’s hard. You hope you did everything you can to prepare them to be on their own. I think it’s exciting and hard on them at the same time, but not as bad as it is on the parents. Parents know things. The kids are getting out on their own but really don’t know what they are getting into. LOL. All you can do is help and try to be there when they need you.

Nice!!.. so happy for y’all… except the UT part😂… just kidding!.. excited for all these kids.. hope they can continue to keep getting educated and not have to be “quarantined “ to their rooms or something!

Well said!

I'll be dropping my youngest off at University Of South Florida next week. My oldest has been in college two years already. I'm super proud of both of them and excited to see them thrive in their own adult life.
Absolutely!!.. it’s very exciting for them!… we’re in your neighborhood!! JU

We just dropped our daughter off for her second year at East Carolina University, My son graduated college and lives in NH. We are enjoying it very much, we travel back and forth to our PA house at will. I have seen it go 2 ways, you either realize the only thing you have in common with your spouse was all the kids activities and socialization or you actually enjoy each others company and get along even better. Thankfully ours was the later.
