Finally got my 33s

So I got my 33s on today and I love them they make the jeep look much beefier. I was expecting the jeep to be sluggish like many have told me but to be honest I don't notice a difference at all everything feels the same as when I had my 31s, I am going on a wheeling trip on the 25th so I will really know then if a re gear is in the future but unfortunately revolution gears are at least 4 weeks out but for now I don't have the need to regear

It is still capable. I noticed the need for a regear offroad.. uphill.. in sand.

Had to down shift much sooner than normal, and engine lugged much easier.

Throw it in 4LO. I think my top speed is 10 mph.

You're just in denial, you will be re-gearing after running the highways for a while

Congrats on the 33’s! Looks so much better. For me I still think a TJ on 33’s looks and performs so good! I drove on my 373 gears and 6-speed for a year before re-gearing. If you ever get a locker, I’m sure you’ll think about re-gearing more then. We just moved my 33’s to my twin sons rig. They’re on 373’s and the 42rle. Looks good, and if they turn off overdrive it drives pretty good too! It could be euphoria too. Let that wear off.

When I had stock 3.73 gears and 35s, I topped out at 97 mph highway and got 17 mpg highway at 65 mph.. Would regearing it have gotten me to 100? Nope.
p.s. Now I get 14mpg when driving under 65 mph.

But they would have got you from 55-70 up a hill without downshifting. I’ve never gone 97 in a TJ. I’ve only been 92. That’s crazy fast in a Jeep!

97 is sooooooooo much faster than 92.

I'm in 4th gear at 30 mph now. That's why I'm looking for a 02' auto.

92 in a Jeep was a totally different experience than 140 in a mustang.

My brother bought one of those old trucks with the Viper engine. He said he had it up to 130 in 3rd gear on the drive home. In the first 10 years of having a license, I lost mine for 7.

That’s one reason I bought the twins a Jeep. They turned 16 yesterday and got their licenses. Im going to share your post with them.

You only think its fine because you've never driven one with correct gearing. Regear and find out what you're missing

109 mph down the hill in Colorado

Going 143 mph on the way from CA to FL was a cake walk in comparison to breaking 85mph in a Jeep. By the time i was done with my down the hill 109 mph ride, my hands were pretty much glued to the steering wheel, i felt sweat in places i never thought could sweat.

So far so good only had them for a day but they are a LOT quieter then my old federals
