Flowmaster worth buying?

I have an opportunity to buy a brand new in box Flowmaster SS Catback Exhaust for $200. Has anyone used this:

Worth it? Depends. If you want it for HP gains, then NO, but if you want it because you like the sound, then probably.

My take, I ran a FM on my XJ with 4.0. Sounded cool but the loud and constant drone on hwy runs got to be fatiguing. I ended up going back to a stock muffler.

As said, no performance gain. A little drone at speed you may or may not mind/notice. But........

For 200 bucks, sure. Especially if you may need exhaust anytime soon.

Btw, I don't think anything makes a 4.0l exhaust sound good.

I have the super 40 muffler on mine and it sounds great. Not the full exhaust just muffler tho.

You should hear the Banks Monster that came with my Jeep. Sounds tastefully vicious, but it doesn't pretend to make my TJR's 4.0L sound like a V8. The engine brake gurgles are cool!

I respectfully disagree. The 4.0 won't ever sound like a V8 but has a nice deep tone. Just my opinion.

That's not a bad price, I bought a knock off Flowmaster for like $125...but I needed it because my stock exhaust rusted out.

i had a flow master on my xj with no cats and it was miserable at times. IMHO i wont change the stock exhast to flows again but hey to each their own.

I looked at a FM but the price put me off...ended up going to the exhaust specialist and he did a cashie job...now I have a generic muffler on it (almost free-flowing) no extra HP but a great burble and crackle when I back off the gas. wouldn't go back.(surprisingly quiet on the open road)
The FM does sound nice though, sounds like steal at 200 bucks
