no. Clean the bores/threads with brakleen and blow it out/dry it real good.

Yes on the loctite. If they say 150, then go 150. Most shimmed pinions give a range of 160-210.

What does it look like if you tighten up backlash? There seems to be a discrepancy between factory backlash(6-10) and some later literature (10-15) for yukon. What gears?
It could be a little deep. Remember on a low pinion front the coast side of the gear is now the drive side. Having it way off the outside of the ring isn't optimal. I'd be making changes to get that towards the rootAlrighty then …. Backlash at .008. Pinion still seems too deep.

It is a tiny bit on the deep side but on a LP front I would run that.
Yeah I would put the other shim back in, shoot for .008-.010 backlash and let er rip.
