Getting a 2 inch lift

I think you should take up the offer on the free spring spacers to see if you want/ need that much height before forking out the money on new springs and such.

Ok, I read all your comments about the sliders. I will rethink my plans. I really didn't want to cover up the paint on the tub, that is whey I was thinking of the style I tried to draw. LOL

This is kind of what I was going for but with out the step. BUT, now that I am going to be raising it anywhere between 2 to 3 inches, I will probably want a step.

I don't like this style because I don't like it covering the tub like that.

I'll have to think about the sliders a bit more. I will probably wait till after I at least raise the tub. That way I can see how it will be getting in and out at that height. What ever I decide to do on it, yes, it will be painted purple. LOL

Yes, I may take that offer, but the only thing I am not sure on is, if I use the spacers to raise it the 2 inches, don't I need to still add the other stuff too (arms, shocks, brackets and so on)? If so, I am spending money on that stuff, so if I didn't like the lift, I would still be out the money for all that stuff. Yes I could sell it, but I wouldn't get what I paid for it.

I have some time to still think on things. I am going to for sure put the jeep up on stands once I get the BL and climb in and out a few times to see how I am going to do on that part of it. That will also tell me what it is going to look like as far as tire gap and all too.

What about just some decent thickness of angle iron ran like the bottom pic in my post above? I wouldn't mind only 2 inches going up the side, but don't like the look of the 4 inches.

Mine had two inch BB when I bought it and nothing else...it works fine, your tires won't be in a straight line front to back, your right front will rub a bit in a hard parking lot turn, but I'm sure my TJ was driven for years like this. You don't have to change shocks. Then, if you feel good w/ the lift, buy your springs, an adjustable front track, and a rear relocation bracket. Then you could add better shocks and other goodies later.
Just a suggestion.

That would work. You just want to make sure you can bolt through the inside of the tub to secure it on the face. To check you can measure up the side and see where it will be on the inside. I made a pair of sliders for a friend of mine and all we did was make a “rub rail” for the bottom. You could potentially integrate a step but I don’t know if I would trust only that much to holding the weight leveraged out. If it were me I would get a piece that covered the bottom entirely (7-9 inches) and then came up with a 2-3” lip.

Why not just go with a normal slider/step combo and then paint it white so you don’t notice? And maybe the step purple?

That is what I might end up doing? I need to lift it first to see how much I may end up using a step. :D Right now with it being stock, the step actually got in my way. I didn't need to use it to get in and out and my pant leg would always rub on it.

I've found that most steps on sliders are fairly useless and grab bars are much more helpful. I would bet with a 2" lift it would still be easier to get into than most 1/2ton trucks made today.

An extremely quick and easy way to test it out would be to drive onto a 2x4 and get out.

LOL, that is what I told my hubby I was going to do after I install the BL. That way I could feel what a 3" lift is going to be like. :D

Going to bring this back up. :D Since I got such a great deal on a complete set of OME springs, I decided to forgo the spacers. I just couldn't pass up the price on them. I figure if I end up not liking it, I can always put them up for sale. :D Of course I would have to repaint them first. LOL

Now that I got them painted I am getting anxious to get them installed. LOL In a way I want to wait till I can get the adjustable track arms for the front and back, but in a way I don't LOL . :D Going to put them back in the boxes once the paint dries and try to wait. :D

You should join on the deer creek and or slickrock run. June 27-28

You should be fine installing without the track bars. The axle will be about .25" pushed over but it will drive fine.

That is what I keep hearing, but then I also hear that I should wait till I get them. My cousin is into Jeeps too ( but I think he is into more extreme lifts) and he says to wait too. Says it will mess up my steering if I don't get the track arms too.

On a side note, I got home from work just now and hubby was saying he was going to make room for my Jeep on the lift. He figured I was going to do it this weekend too. LOL

You're right on the edge of needing adjustable rear sway bar end links. Did you already pick up 2" bump stops?

Also, you could save some money and just get a rear track bar relocation bracket. I ran one for years with both my 3.5" RE and 4" currie springs until I swapped it out.

No, I haven't picked up any bump stops yet. Do I still need those if I have the 0-2" Rancho shocks? I was under the impression I need them if I had taller shocks. It's still so confusing to me on what I need. I keep hearing different things all the time. I heard that I could get away with just the relocation bracket in the back, but then I also hear that the front would still be off if I didn't get an adjustable bar for it. Then I hear it will steer fine with just doing the relocation bracket in the back, but then I hear it won't. LOL

Right now I want to do as little as needed to put the springs on. If I can get buy with the stock sway bars in the rear, I will do it for now. Eventually, I probably change it all out anyway as they are all old and needing to be replaced. But for now, just want to get it lifted. :D

Well we will have to see if I get the lift done by then, (do I need it to be lifted to do those trails?), or if the country will be open in time to do it. :D

Sounds like fun though. Where is the info on it??

Ok, I was reading the info on the JKS front bar and it says "minor drilling to install" . What do I have to drill? Shouldn't it just hook to where the old one was hooked too?
