Good country artists?

I really like Johnny Cash's American Recording albums and the Storytellers album with Willie Nelson. Still call them albums although I haven't bought vinyl in decades.

Drinkin' songs. Gotta love 'em!!! But I still reach back into the past for them. Webb Pierce, the original version of "There Stands the Glass", for example. Gooood stuff......

Grew up on country music, older stuff like George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Don Williams and Haggard.
Other than the hip-hop country, still like most stuff today, especially Kenny Chesney.

Problem I have with a lot of what's called "Country" these days is it's hard to tell it from "Rock" with all the screamin' guitars. Also, I get tired of Country songs with lyrics referencing Rock songs and/or artists. When was the last time you heard a Rock artist singing the praises of a Country artist? Pretty rare. The lines are so blurred anymore that I just can't get into it, but I'm probably in the minority...
