Happy Columbus Day

At the risk of being a sourpuss, we can do that as long as we are open and honest about his efforts to conquer Europe and exterminate the Jews.
No problem, as long as we are open and honest about the Imperialism that Columbus represented, the conquest of native peoples that he championed, and the genocide that ensued because of his explorations. Besides that, he was a shitty navigator. We really should honor Leif Ericsson- at least he made it to North America.

Yes to all of that! Can you imagine the parades we could have if we represented the whole story?

Comparing and contrasting Columbus to Hitler is a very interesting move.

Yes, exactly like that. Thank you for proving my point about how stupid anything that came out of Al Gore's mouth was. 👍
I was being sarcastic. =P

What Gore described is something that's happening, just not on the timeline he described.

Skip to the 34 minute mark here for the opening statements from the kids and you'll see what I mean, lol.

Yeah I got to the point where the girl said "I'm 17 years old and I'm a climate justice advocate. I should be in school right now"

As I was throwing up in my mouth, I couldn't help but think how something so stupid yet something so smart came out of her mouth in consecutive sentences. WTF is climate justice? To bring this full circle, how about we get justice for the native Americans and slave descendants before fight for justice for inanimate things? And yes, she should be in school instead of being a useful idiot (reference Sail Alinski's rules for radicals.) I can guarantee her parents are complete idiots. Go ahead and ask me why.

These kids are reading scripts and their use as pawns is despicable. If you want to see some real videos of what Greta thinks and her eloquence in stating her point, search for videos where she isn't on script. It makes Trump look like a genius.

I'm not going there right now, but there are several references in Elie Wiesel's book that are noteworthy of a raise of the eyebrow.

Yeah like when glaciers covered Texas, then receded before humans started spewing CO2 into the atmosphere. The climate changes, I get it. But will carbon credits save the globe or allow corporations to spend billions on carbon credits just to pollute more while just paying more to do it. One burp from a volcano spews more greenhouse gasses than humans since our evolution. Who is gonna pay the carbon credits for that?

I know, right? The irony is truly overwhelming.

History is written by the victors. Can you imagine how the history books would read if Germany won WWII or if the Native Americans kept Europe away and wrote that story? Our understandings would be very different. Certain things would be emphasized while others minimized.

The Marshall Plan

The Boy Scouts were founded in 1910

Henry Ford

three strikes and you're out

WWII started in 39 Marshall plan was enacted in 44. That's a foul ball at best. He gets another pitch.

Also, the original beetle was produced from 33 to 98 and completely dwarfed any of Henry's designs. Not to mention it was far better in design than anything Henry dreamed. VWs are still superior to Ford's offerings

You get a Boo-to-theYaaaah for that one. Sometimes I just sit in silence and let my mind roam wherever it wishes. What could be...

Things that might rain on a parade, if I recall Night.

Funny how when they had the choice to stay with their genocidal captors or be liberated by the American allies, well I won't spoil it and tell you what the Jewish captives chose, but those of us who study history already know 😉

The history of China is very different depending on whether or not you are reading it from the mainland. At least in the US, we have the freedom to expose and explore the parts that don't fit the patriotic narrative.

Shitty navigator? lol Too damn funny. I suggest you study real history and what it was like in the 1700's to start and work you way back to the 1400's. You have got to be kidding me. Columbus was a bad ass period! The Indians got lucky. Another area might have come here and completely wiped them out. They didn't even have the wheel over here for goodness sake. Lets not pretend about them. They were at war with each other all the time.

Glad my people got out of Scotland. No future there and that is why countless Scots came over and fought the French and Indians to have a chance to have land for themselves. It worked out great and we all should be very thankful to live in such a great country. We sure got lucky. Stop pretending what it was like back then. We would have trouble lasting a month in the 1700's let alone the all the sickness and starvation of the 1400's! Seriously, people killed each other for food. People do a lot of things if they are super hungry and many people dying at young ages due to sickness or even minor injuries. Judging people back then by today's standards is stupid and tiresome.

Yeah, cause I was reading in school instead of being an activist. My momma would have beat my ass 😂

Meanwhile, American kids can't get across town without GPS!

Thank the Lord God Almighty for Christopher Columbus.
