I hate my Jeep

I think that will be a nicely performing package. I believe one of the OME shocks is known to ride rough though so just make sure you look into it a little bit.

I was never a fan of body lifts until I realized the benefits that they had for the TJ. My only experience with them before was the 2"+ body lifts done to trucks that look like hell.

I'm gonna have to give that option a giant HELL NO! LOL. It looks pretty bad ass for sure, but i could never justify that kit for my DD. Not only that, I have the misfortune to live in S. Fla, the land of the ignorant, incompetent, indifferent and just plain old lazy. The lets hire the worst of the worst just to save a buck. I don't think i could trust anybody to be cutting and welding components on my Jeep, let alone be able to do it without screwing something up.

It incorporates the tummy tucker and alleviates the need for a body lift, plus fixes your problems. My buddy's can take corners like a race car without all that body roll and slop.

But to each their own.

Shoot, that was my main reason to go with OME. The quality and smooth ride of their shock/coil combo. Ill be sure to ask Dirk over at DPG to confirm

I agree with you on the S. FL comment. I have done all the work on my TJ myself. I would never take it to any shop. To me the Jeep lifestyle involves everything from building it yourself to wheeling it yourself. I learned that from my dad. He used to build and fly RC planes and he never ever bought a kit plane he always designed them and built them from the ground up. Before I bough my long arm kit I had thought long and hard to actually build one myself but time was my biggest constrain. Since it is my daily driver I had to get all the work done as fast as possible.

Another thing I have to thank my dad for is that he taught me how to weld.

Does look good though!! My '04 is lifted as well and I feel your pain. One of my previous post talk about my white knuckle event driving it on the freeway in the wind! However, take it off road and you'll be happy again! Took mine wheelin' this weekend and that lift sure came in handy! I'm actually starting to get use to its handling behavior!

Oh, im not doubting it one bit. But it looks pretty involved, and finding a quality shop around here that would be competent enuf to install that? Lets just say it would be problematic to say the least.

I could be wrong. I remember reading something that @Jerry Bransford said about hydro vs. nitro and one was better than the other but it might not be OME.

I hear you on that. Never learned to weld myself, Im pretty sure i could handle the install myself with some help of course. But I really don't have the room in the garage to do it. But like I mentioned earlier, i do have a neighbor with a shop, and even though he isn't a so-called 4x4 specialist, i would trust him over the other shop i went to any day of the week, And he is totally cool with me being there and assisting,( i.e being his personal grunt, coffee and lunch getter!) with the whole thing. So, as much as i would like to "make my bones" the old fashioned way...I still am in a different way.

Jerry was talking about the difference between the old Rancho RS5000 shocks and their new RS5000X shocks I believe. OME only has one type of shock to my knowledge. OME changed their shocks a few years ago from their Nitrocharger shocks to their Sport shock.

Hydro vs. Nitro makes me think of Skyjacker shocks, their Nitro is stiffer than stiff. Too stiff for humans.

Just want to say I'm watching this thread with interest, as us yellow TJ owners need to stick together. I am mad jealous of those flares and roll bar covers. Not nearly as faded as mine.

Run a heat gun over your factory flares, it's like spraying black satin paint on them.

I dunno, it seems like it lasted at least a year or two but that also depends on how much the Jeep sits outside in the sun.

hey Jerry, i just read your profile page. I see that you have 4'' currie lift and 1'' BL. did you do the MML as well? The reason i ask is because according the currie website it states that the 4" kit " When used in conjunction with a 1" body lift and a 1" motor mount lift, this kit allows for efficient use of up to 35" tires."

You can't see from the pics..but the flares seem like cheap plastic and all cracked up. I roll topless and doorless, my covers aint much better than yours. would like to replace them one day
