Is it worth it to install new (upgraded) engine brackets?

I've gathered most of the parts needed to install a Golen stroker. One thing I'm not sure about is whether it's useful to add upgraded engine brackets. Brown Dog makes a kit that uses additional block attachment points. With the additional HP and torque, is there a real need/benefit for adding this at install time?

I’ve got a Banks turbo and if you can believe the claims it puts out quite a bit more than a stroker. I still have the OEM mounts and nothing bad has happened.

I wouldn't bother with these honestly. To me they are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, at least not with the power you'd get from a stroker engine.

When it comes to breaking things, torque is all that matters, not hp. Regardless, oem mounts in good shape will be fine. I have the Brown Dog mml mounts on my stroker and it's fine as well.

I thought so too and they may not be available.

Buddy of mine has those. He needed to remove one to replace his a/c compressor if I remember right.

They still have them listed on the site, but if you try adding it to the cart, it is unavailable. I called a while back and there are no plans to restock the kits.

I've got them in my 2.5L YJ...but because I wanted a motor lift and my OEM stuff was trashed


but I was thinking about using them on my TJ's stroker, since one on my engine mount bosses had a small crack
