Is my power steering pump leaking?

Hey all,

I spent my weekend replacing what I thought was a leaky AC compressor. Well...The leak is still there, and I need your help finding the culprit.

I'm wondering if its the Power Steering Pump for a couple reasons:
1. There is oil pooling on the top of the AC compressor and dripping down around it:

I'm also not sure it is the PSP because:
1. I thought PS Fluid was red(former Toyota Tech plz forgive me)
2. It makes noise while turning but not THAT much noise

If its not the PSP then im completely lost....

Compare color and smell to the fluid in the reservoir. It is likely brown if it hasn’t been changed in many moons. Also, follow the plumbing to look for the origin of the leak. It helps to use a good flashlight.

Sometimes, i have better results doing this in the dark. It will provide more contrast to what is wet and shiny when illuminated with the flashlight.

new power steering fluid is normally fairly clear

Why not use some UV dye and find out for sure?

Well the sky is still blue, and my PS Fluid is still red... It smells like an oil but it also evaporates after a while. Does that help anyone?

just went and checked . i have 3 bottles of prestone pwr str fluid all were clear fluid. sounds like atf in yours, could be wrong

i stand corrected another thread they said 03-06 used atf !

Yeah thats what I read too. I'm going to pull it off tomorrow and see what I can find
