Well nixing the wrap idea, looked at my buddies wrap on his TJ post wheeling trip and just really didn't like it. I can also attribute the fact I really like white on TJ's so that was always fighting me in the back of my head. My fenders are quite worn, so I will look into having the Jeep touched up to get her looking nice again.
Finalizing things on the wheeling trip coming up (Stoney Lonesome with Alabama Overland 1/12-1/13), should be pulling the coils this upcoming Friday & rechecking my bumpstops/interference issues. I have been questioning certain things on my build that aren't being used like I originally thought they would be. Just the kinda guy that when they aren't I start the long winding road of if its time to part ways. We will see what I end up doing I guess.
Any who, Happy New Years to all.
Well the obvious stuff is staying, but as much as I love the Gobi rack I am really not using it as much as I originally did. Since the Jeep is lifted its quite a pan to get store stuff up top and now that I'm seriously trying to plan a road trip... Its looking like getting a military trailer with a rtt would be the best option for two reasons:Do tell. What amiss with your build plans?
Ok that's all good...the way I read into that was you were ready to move on from the Sahara into something elseWell the obvious stuff is staying, but as much as I love the Gobi rack I am really not using it as much as I originally did. I'm not crazy right? I have a buddy who rents out a warehouse for his vehicles and he said I could park a military trailer in one of the corners for not very much.
- I really like the idea of a base camp, I hate setting up camp with nightlights. Makes sense to set up early, at least to me.
- I am getting more comfortable in my Jeep, but in the event something happens when I am offroading, my stomach turns at the idea of a 2k roof rack and 1k rtt getting crushed while the vehicle remaining mostly ok. I like the idea of it remaining safe and keeping the weight down low on a vehicle.
It just feels like the money could be better used elsewhere to accelerate the plot and actually get the vehicle "overlanding" (With slightly more trail riding than initially planned).
I like & actively use nearly everything else on my Jeep.

Jesus no man. If I got another vehicle it'd be another motorcycle but the TJ is foreverOk that's all good...the way I read into that was you were ready to move on from the Sahara into something elsehahaha.
Yeah yours is really niceMakes sense to me, but I may have a biased opinion on that. RTT in my future plans too.

Quite a bit, I'll play around with the idea and see what work best. Gotta research some trailers...Yeah, the trailer idea had been poking around in my head since i bought my jeep. The roof rack never made sense to me, because it limits one of the main reasons i bought a jeep... topless driving.
I've found wicked cool find I think will be mine, I will know for sure on friday if its fully mine. I don't want to jinx it, but I may have found one of the best TJ items to ever be discontinued. No hints or than: its not something stupid expensive, but certainly not cheap. Here's to hoping it works out!![]()
The suspense is killing me!
Here is sending you some positive thinking!! Good Luck!
May the Jeep gods favor you in this endeavor.
I would give this one a step above the trail guide. I have my methods and manage to find things I REALLY wantAnother trail dash? Do you just surf and surf until you find these things?
If this works out I'll reveal my secret.Good luck...some day you are going to have to let us in on ur secret to the search!
The bumper ended up having a 2” gash of rust in the very bottom of it and the owner wouldn’t come down any. Its just not worth that much to me if I have to black glass and repaint it. Good guess!!Bumper? Lol
