I told myself I would never do it, but after some late evening wheeling turned into early night I can see the advantage. No judgement...

No judgement from me. I generally avoid wheelin‘ at night, but every time I have I’ve wished I had rock lights. I may do it as well at some point.

Running some of the ridge lines here in the PNW at night can be a really great experience. You feel almost like you are floating since there's nothing on either side of you.

I have always kinda viewed them as underglow lights for the off road and overland community. Maybe my perception is wrong.

When being used for what they were intended to be, ie: night time trail running they are great. And there are trails here in PNW that at times you can end up running them at night due to the length. There are times we'll be out on the trail 10-14 hours. Other times we do night runs just for doing them.

I added mine because I thought my daughter would like them. I’ve rarely wheeled at night and when I have there’s nobody spotting so it’s hard to say if they helped but I can see how they could.

Ahhh, so are the rock lights more to help a spotter assist?

I've wheeled a bunch alone at night since I don't have a crew, and I never considered doing this. I'm not against it, I just didn't know how it could help me.

I do my best to keep mental track of the line I choose and feel my way. It's scarier at night which adds a level of adventure lol. I installed a front camera and removed it because it didn't improve things. I'd be game to add lights once I feel more confident that the location will improve my experience.

Made some fuel can mounts from some scrap aluminum I had lying around. I am planning a trip in July to do the Rubicon trail from one end to the other and back. I almost ran out of fuel in Big Bend several times so extra fuel storage is a must. I don't like the feeling of running low and having to be constantly in conservation mode. I also test fit the hammock I was going to use. I'm undecided on that yet. It fits and is semi comfortable, but I might try a sleeping platform instead.
