You are still really deep. Start with 55 thou and let's take it from there. What is in there now? Remember that any baffles or slingers count toward your shim stack.

0.025" but I didn't measure the slinger so I'll add that next time. Probably jump on it first thing in the morning.

If the slinger was the original one on there, then just start with that and nothing else. We'll get you tuned up quick.

Nice. Very close, but slightly shallow. Add 3 thou and let's see. My guess is that you are 3 thou or less to having it.

Can you thicken up your paint and use less so there isn't a huge runny line at the root?

Remember now, for pinion pre-load shoot for 16-20

So.....I fucked up the threads on the pinion when I went to install the nut. Ended up cutting it off and ordered a new pinion/ring gear.

So here I am submitting a new gear pattern for advice. @hosejockey61 @Rickyd. I'm using the same shim setup as before. Thanks in advance

That absolutely sucks that you had to get a new R&P.

This new pattern is shallow, but you are close.

I would add 3-5 thou and post a pic. Hopefully it flips to deep and you will know what you're bracket is.

The backlash is around 10-11. I'll get back at it tomorrow morning

This is +3 thou backlash is about 9-10 here's where I'm at

Still shallow but you are definitely getting closer. Add another 3-5. That first set of pics was way farther off than I had thought. And get your backlash around 5-8.

Your are close, so keep it up!
