If you have photos, please post.

Jeep is a ‘05 TJ (3rd cat), prior to the mid arm I had a banks monster muffler (15”). Same muffler that comes with their catback kit. While wrapping up the mid arm install I’m concerned that muffler is to long to work with the savvy TT and mid arm. Before I start hacking up this exhaust I’d like to know what others have done with the same setup. TJ, midarm, Savvy TT. I want to run the exhaust all the way out the back.

Thanks.

What did you end up doing?

We put a smaller magnaflow CARB legal cat on mine(447206) and moved it more forward than the stock third cat. I originally had the banks muffler with a turn down but it was horrendously loud. I was able to fit a stock replacement walker muffler but it is tight.

When I had a tailpipe I did not think the banks muffler was too loud, so if you go that route you should be ok. I do not recommend running that muffler with a turn down.

Thanks!

I want a tail pipe just haven’t found someone I’m comfortable with doing the work yet. I also haven’t been looking very hard...

I am not to that point yet. I will follow up with what was done. So far, measuring and scratching my head I believe I will be relocating the 3rd cat further forward and possibly a smaller muffler. The goal is to route the exhaust out back.

Dynomax offers a bullet race muffler with 4"x12". Not sure how loud this would be while retaining the 3rd cat. It would however free up a lot of room and make building the exhaust much easier.
