Mildly Out of Hand 02 Sahara Build

Just did my first real shakedown for this new setup on the rubicon trail with a group and @DylanM345 as my copilot. Went in at loon all the way to the springs friday then back out loon on Saturday. Jeep did great with the 4 link and cos.
Here’s some mandatory flex shots of the setup and scenery.

As @DylanM345 said I threw in his old bedrug. Feels like driving a limo now. I also ordered some goodies from PSC. I'll probably throw in the hydro assist first. I still have my front mid arm and coilovers waiting, but not sure if I'll wait till different axles or rock it with the Dana 30 for awhile. My plan is to stretch the front a couple inches and rock 37s or 38s with a 101 ish wheelbase, keeping it low with 6" up 6" down front and rear.

Going to be wheeling all the well known supposedly tougher trails in Big Bear CA this weekend. Anyone going to be in the area this weekend?

I made the best jeep mod someone can do and bought a tow rig! It’s a 2012 gmc 2500 4wd 6.0 gasser. I’m especially excited to no longer have to tent camp on jv trips

Congratulations! That looks like a very nice "basic" truck. The standard cab and steel wheels are what leads me to believe it's a base model. Is it actually more of a base model, or fairly optioned-out? I've always preferred a lower-end model, myself, though I know there are plenty of folks out there who want all the bells and whistles.

I went for years having only my 4WD trail rig as my Daily Driver too because I couldn't afford a second rig. When I was finally able to afford a second vehicle it just made my life easier. So congratulations on the new rig. I had Chevy 3/4 ton with the 6.0 for a short time. It was a good truck until the dash started acting up.

Already outfitted with a winch and topper so I'd say you did good.

I still need to look through all the options, but it is pretty basic. I do have electric windows and locks (not even sure if you could get them without in 2012), but other than that I think its as base as they come. It has perks like the manual 4wd shifter and floor liner etc. It seems unpopular nowadays but I've always loved single cab long bed trucks. There are no plans to modify this thing so the steelies will stay, maybe I'll go get the correct hubcaps haha

I understand that struggle. I bought a beater fixer upper civic a year or two ago to daily drive, but before that all I had was the TJ. I promised a buddy the day I get a truck I'll sell him the honda so that thing is gone now. The winch is a m12000 and the truck came with a receipt for the brand new camper shell. I'm pretty excited about it!

My hydro assist parts showed up at Poly Performance recently. I was putting off this mod but my stock ps system has been slowly killing itself from the lunchbox and 35s. Just need to pick up the parts and get @DylanM345 to supply an extra functional hand for a weekend haha

Plan is to rework steering box location get some good stretch out of the front, 3 link with the remaining CO's, and different axles. Goal is low with 6 up 6 down like the rear with a tire somewhere from 37"-40" lol. I'll be shooting for 103-105" ish wb. Might be awhile.

Parts came in for the next project. I went with the 7.25” resi to play better with my high lines as well as Blaine’s kit for the cooler.

It looked way worse four months ago that’s for sure.
