Utah Moab in May 2025

I’ve never done that either. No park pass needed, correct?

As already said if you're coming in the back door most like not but here's the rules for the main entrance.

A suggestion: depending on how many on the tentative list show up, the two groups could get way too big if everyone participates. I would suggest considering braking up into a few more groups, perhaps creating a few more options for folks to choose.

I'd guess 6 vehicles would be about the right size. I've done some trials with 10 but if it's got a lot of obstacles or alternate spots to play it can take a lot longer.

This is a different pass than the annual park pass. I have one but mine was free...

I meant for coming in the back with a national parks pass I wouldn’t feel like I cheated the system.

That timed entry stuff is stupid and makes me never want to go in the main gate.

I believe you can enter the park with no time-entry limitation before something like 7 am, or after sometime late in the afternoon.

I plan to arrive in Moab on Thursday, May 1, so if anyone wants to toodle around on Friday, May 2 at Arches or do a trail just let me know. I’ve never done anything like Chicken Corners, but I hear it’s beautiful. I’ve also wanted to get down in that Canyon near Dead Horse Point. It would just be a cool drive.
Looks like Saturday is "Arrive" day with no planned trails. Or am I missing something?
I'm reserved for Sat., 3rd arrival but might consider coming on Friday for a casual Chicken Corners or the Canyon on Saturday.

Yep Saturday is arrive for most of us I think, for me check-in isn't til 4pm. Might be possible to squeeze in a quick trail, have done it before, but don't know if it's happening this year. You're welcome to show up early though of course maybe someone else will, or those trails you can easily do yourself with no worry of getting stuck

I’m coming early because my usual weekend is Thursday and Friday, so I can head out early Thursday and be there by late in the day. I’m pulling a trailer with my half doors and beadlocks. So I’ll be swapping those on Friday morning and ready to go…

My plan is to be there late Sat night. Haven't booked a place to stay yet but I'll be ready to roll Sunday.

For the guys running Pritchett, what are you're builds like? Can it be made in a TJ on 35s?

Edited old post to point here so noone gets confused

Is this setup as Group 1 for the more challenging trails and Group 2 for more casual?
I guess we can mix & match.

After watching enough videos for one day Steelbender AND Top of the World look enticing, but they're on the same day. I'm not that particular and will go with the flow.

If we end up with too many vehicles for a given trail let’s give some consideration to two runs on that trail, each with some experience to lead it. Could be two groups with a gap between them run or separate days.

It would be a shame if some that want to challenge themselves and go thru all the effort to get down there are left out due to a capacity limit. That said, I recognize it can get out of hand to have too many rigs on a harder trail.

How big is too big?

I'm sure it will all be worked out when the time comes. It's been too long for me so I'm following whom ever is leading the trails but I am lucky enough to have Jeff's old GPS & the SD card with it. So at least I shouldn't get lost...

How big is too big?

Easier trails 8-10 vehicles and the harder trails I'd say 8 is max.

depends on how the trail is setup. Didn’t we take like 16 on the trifecta? Cliffhanger, smaller group is better as you may meet other groups. On a two way tight section of trail.

I like the early and later group approach to solving the problem. Or we say the front half is a group and they keep moving after completing an obstacle instead of waiting on the whole group.
