So my 01 tj 4.0 finally gave up the ghost after 315k miles. I'm about to pull it and going to get a reman 4.0. Does anyone have experience with Titan reman engines. They seem to specialize in Jeep motors. I am just looking for a stock 4.0 replacement. Anyone have a suggestion of best place to get one if not Titan? Thanks in advance.

They're here in FL and I've not heard anyone complain. Why not upgrade to one of their strokers?

Buddy of mine bought a Titan motor with a nonstock cam I believe. Think the rest of the motor was stock. I don’t think the engine has any rubbing issues but it did leak out of almost all of the freeze plugs. Right after the break in for a few of them, and then a few of them later. It’s been a while and I’ve only watched slowly over the years, but I haven’t seen many glowing Titan reviews.

I don’t really have a good suggestion here. I can say that after nearly 10 years of reman 4.0 research, I haven’t find a single company that has truly good reviews. Seems like they all cut corners where they can. My suggestion if you can swing it would be to get a motor built to stockish specs at a good machine shop. But, doing that is a stretch for many people. Could also look for a used junkyard motor. I personally would stay away from any $2.5-3k reman. The reviews for all of them are just terrible.

That's really the issue with the forums...most people come here for help and advise... rarely with success stories.
