Just my experience, but when I bought my jeep, it had original springs and a 1.75 spacer lift, and 1 washer behind the steering stops. I had the same Grizzlys and 31x10.5R15 KM3'S on them.

I'm not making an argument for the KM3'S. If you're not happy with the performance of BFGs on snow, by all means, try the Falkens. A buddy of mine runs Falkens on all his rigs, and loves them.

All I'm saying is that I never had any rubbing on that setup, and it drove great. I enjoy the hell out of my Jeep now with 35's and all that comes with it, and I can certainly go more places, but the setup I mentioned above worked fantastically for 31's, and it was a hoot to drive.

That's good to know. It might be nice to up the size on the tires anyway, to be honest I originally wanted to put 31's but ended up going with the 30's because I was worried they wouldn't fit, and well, they still didn't HA! but if all I have to do is add a spacer or another washer and there won't be any other issues with fitment on my wheels and setup than I might just upgrade to 31

I've been driving mine with 3.07s (nv3550) and 31x10.50s for a couple of years now. It's tolerable. Not a huge difference from the stock sized tires. I daily drive my jeep, so I get a huge mix of city streets, 2 lane highway, interstate, and hilly wv back roads. I might have to downshift a little more often, but it's not unbearable. Looking forward to the day I can afford lockers, a re-gear, and 33's though.

You'll be fine. People tend to exaggerate. I had 3.07's once. I also had a 4 cylinder Jeep once.

I also had 3.07s. Would I go back to them? No.

But while I noticed it was a little "pokey" on the interstate, it was only a problem climbing steep grades.

You'll be fine. Not "Man, this setup is gonna blow your tits clean off" amazing, but you'll be fine.

Hey guys, I've been driving my BFG K02's for a while now but haven't been impressed by their wet weather and ice/packed snow performance. I have been turned on to the Falken Wildpeak AT3W and they look to be superior in these conditions.

My question is, I currently have size 30x9.5x15 tires with no lift. Surprisingly I still had to put a washer on my steering stops when I put these tires on because they rubbed at full lock. As it turns out, it is very difficult to find these tires in this size, but I can find 31's. I've read on this forum that 31's should fit without rubbing with no lift. If mine rub at 30, how much worse would they be at 31?

You’re gonna have a hard time finding a better tire then the K02’s for the condition you describe, K02’s excel on packed snow and wet surface from my extensive driving experience, it’s going to be a $1200 experiment, Just sayin

I bought one of these so now I get more mileage out of tires, better grip and more alone time in the shop…

Took my my wife’s BFG all terrains to like 70k miles. But for winter grip on ice, rain you need to look at the siping, not just how many but how deep. Most siping is not full tread depth so the performance fades you get more noise.. but if you chase the pattern with a tool like this at mid- 3/4 life - remove the wear bars you extend the performance - but it’s a bit slow an tedious the larger the tire is…

So you need tires. And springs. And if you go up a little you probably need a regear.

So just accept the inevitable and put 4" springs, 35s and regear to 4.88s or 5.13s
