New Tool Day

My Dewalt angle grinder is cordless too. I have several Dewalt 20v brushless tools. It all started with a big 1/2" drive impact in 2018 that I got when I installed my lift. I used it to remove and install everything for the lift and only used 1/2 of a battery charge. That led to a drill, 1/4" impact, hammer drill, another compact 1/2" drive impact, oscillating tool, 1/2" drive ratchet, the angle grinder and a handheld light. I have several batteries and chargers too. Aside from the big impact gun that I bought first, which I paid full price for at Lowes, I've gotten all the other stuff on sales or marked down deals on Amazon. I've been very happy with it all and impressed with how long the batteries last on these brushless tools. I rarely use any of my corded tools anymore.

Now I have a couple Hercules 20v brushless impacts and a Rip saw to accompany them.

That’s a good start!

Ahh, it’s taken me 6 years to get there with the cordless power tools, just looking for deals and sometimes getting items when I don’t really need them at the time. 😄

I’ll throw the Hercules 1/2” impact in the Jeep anytime I’m going wheeling or on road trips.

That 1/2” impact is a good tool. I use it more than any of the others. It zips my lug nuts off no problem.

Excellent choice. I learned maybe 30 ago when I owned a factory that Dewalt was absolutely the best hand tools.

I believe you will find the vise to be pre war.

Which war? 😃

Not finding anything on the No. 0. Found some talk of post civil war patent numbers with Athol vises, but nothing on this one. Probably need to look at old catalogs.

Fit-up is perfect when snugged up. And it has a sort of "quick set" feature. Moveable jaw has a screw, the fixed has a half nut.

Was told to toss this and that punch into the recycle bin, and I said no 😃

Without giving away private details how did you get your hands on that little time capsule?

Helping my dad do some life cleansing last week. He was/ is a tool hoarder. Mostly Snap On. But a fair amount of just odd really old stuff. At this point, I haven't needed anything tool wise for a looooong time. Kids and all my young local friends are set. At this point its toss not Snap On and donate everything else.

We are still on a first name basis with some really really old OK pawn shop owners that my dad has known since the 70s.

He moved to Ca. in 76 and I unloaded a wood box from that trip 😃
