Newer model Subwoofer in older model jeep

The subwoofer and amp were blown on my 2002 Apex, I picked up a used one on Kijiji not knowing there's actually 2 models. The one I picked up was one from the '03-'06 era. Problem being that the 6 pin wiring to the stereo wouldn't connect to the 12 pin connected to this newer Amp and sub. I'm assuming I can somehow wire it together, I have the wiring diagrams for both. This would be the first time I've tried my hand at anything electrical for the most part so any help is appreciated.

You ever get this squared away? I have the amplifier out of a 2001-2002 with the original connector from my console if you need it. I went with a Kicker sub that fit in the original housing and a Kicker amplifier under the dash to power it since it takes a great deal more wattage than the factory unit. It's been a while but I just kicked the box over that had the amp in it again, it will fit on your old box or the new one so you won't have to do any wiring....
